ConStruction
2007 Postponed Until November
Due to numerous
scheduling conflicts, the Bay Area ConStruction convention-running conference has been postponed to November 10-11, 2007.
ConStruction is
a conference about organizing science fiction, fantasy, horror, anime, and
related conventions with a focus on
Programming at
ConStruction will consist of panel and round table discussions. Topics include
convention operations; staffing; program building and managing guest
expectations; contracts; budgeting; customer relations and communication.
Saturday evening, members will play the convention-planning simulation game
"If I Ran the Z/o/o/...Con."
Membership in
ConStruction, including Sunday Brunch, is $25 through October 31, 2007 and will
be $35 at the door. Checks should be made payable to “SFSFC” and credit cards
(Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover) are accepted. Send payment
or credit card information to ConStruction, c/o SFSFC,
ConStruction
kicks off at 8 PM on Friday, November 9, when SFSFC, sponsor of the convention,
hosts a Dessert Social for Bay Area convention-runners. SFSFC invites anyone
with an interest in local convention-running to attend the social event on
Friday night. Membership in ConStruction
is not required to attend Friday's nights Dessert Social. Saturday is the
convention’s seminar day, with panels throughout the day. Sunday morning, the
SFSFC was the
parent non-profit corporation of ConJosé,
the 2002 World Science Fiction Convention, and ConFrancisco, the 1993 Worldcon.
